In his role as Aboriginal Health Education Officer for NSW Health, ‘Alby’, as he’s affectionately known by his friends and colleagues, takes pride in being able to help ensure the Aboriginal community in NSW adequately receive the health care they need.
“I interact with Aboriginal patients and their families, advocating on their behalf to ensure they’re given the appropriate care and treated with dignity and respect,” Alby explains.
Alby feels great satisfaction in his role knowing that he’s able to provide a voice for his community, one which is inclusively safeguarding their best interests.
“Being here to assist my people, meeting new people, and making a difference – that’s what I love most about my job,” he enthuses.
When he’s not at work, Alby keeps himself busy managing a rugby league team that participates annually in the Koori Knockout Carnival. He also enjoys golf, chess, camping and fishing.
