In recent years, technology has taken an ever-increasing presence in both the classroom and the broader path of the educational journey for students and teachers in NSW.
As Technology Support Officer for the NSW Department of Education, it’s Kathryn’s job to champion and facilitate the efficient use of technological tools at her school.
“On a day-to-day basis, I repair equipment and provide new equipment, assist teachers and students in utilising technology to enhance education, and resolve technology issues as they arise,” Kathryn explains.
Kathryn is passionate about being able to help the students and teachers at her school use technology in the best way possible to facilitate better learning.
“The best part of my job is enabling teachers and students to build their skills and create options for their future,” she enthuses.
“By ensuring the school operates efficiently, teachers can focus on educating the students.”
When she’s not in technology mode, Kathryn enjoys gardening, swimming and triathlons. She also participates in community work, and is currently studying a Masters degree.
