As Acting Director, NSW Housing Appeals Committee for NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS), Yasmina leads the independent appeals agency for NSW social housing. This involves leadership and guidance of the NSW social housing independent appeals mechanism.
Yasmina leads the team on policy interpretation, managing the Committee’s performance outcomes and setting and delivering results across strategic objectives for the business unit.
Yasmina also leads teams working on projects involving operational policy review, change management, strategic reform, governance and compliance frameworks, business planning and financial forecasting.
“My role contributes to and influences the FACS range of services and initiatives for vulnerable groups across NSW. I’m responsible for ensuring the agency’s objectives are on target and within budget, to deliver positive outcomes for the people of NSW,” she explains.
Yasmina takes great satisfaction from knowing her work is making a positive contribution to the vulnerable in our community, and from the fact that her role is responsible for upholding the reputation and professionalism of the social housing independent appeals system.
“I like to see that we’re making a positive change to the lives of those that FACS assists, including children, the elderly, and those in need of social housing,” she enthuses.
Outside of work, Yasmina also supports Guide Dogs Australia, and enjoys hiking, travelling, and exploring World Heritage sites.
