Director, Clinical Governance

South Western Sydney Local Health District
Health Service Senior Executive Band 1

  • Forge partnerships
  • Strengthen integrated frameworks
  • Lead system-wide innovation in quality and safety
  • Imbed the LHD’s ‘Transforming Your Experience’ strategy

South Western Sydney, one of the largest NSW metropolitan and rural health districts, has a vibrant, rapidly growing multi-cultural population. South West Sydney LHD has a diverse workforce of 9,200 FTE providing services across tertiary care to outreach in homes and communities.

The Director Clinical Governance will enjoy a close and supportive working relationship with the CEO in leading the vision to deliver excellence in clinical quality, safety and governance and in the enhancement of patients’ experience of service across the LHD. They will play a pivotal role in imbedding the ‘Transforming Your Experience’ strategy across the LHD’s services and in ensuring that the Government’s priority for ‘better value care’ is achieved within South Western Sydney LHD.

As a member of the District and Facility Executive Teams the Director Clinical Governance provides expert advice to the Chief Executive and is a key linkage across the Executive to ensure that all members are fully engaged and understand the importance of clinical governance to the organisation. They will also ensure community participation and medical specialties’ support in guiding clinical practice; strengthen clinical governance arrangements through the existing structure of 10 clinical streams and collaborative relationships; and nurture a culture of accountability and patient safety awareness through measuring, evaluating and innovating to reduce risk. A focus of the role is also to foster and create a strong research and teaching culture that emphasises leadership, recognition of research achievement and retention of high quality clinicians.

If you are a clinician from a nursing, allied health or medical field and a recognised leader in patient safety, quality and clinical governance then we would love to hear from you.
