Our aim is to be recognised as world leaders in delivering evidence-based rehabilitative interventions with young people who come into contact with the criminal justice system. We supervise and support young people in custody and in the community and manage early intervention and diversion schemes.

 

About the role

 

Reporting to the Executive Director Juvenile Justice, you will have a pivotal role in shaping the future operations of Juvenile Justice, to create a modern environment that delivers world-class rehabilitative services for young people and safe workplaces for our staff. 

 

As the Director, State-wide Operations you will:

  • Implement operational standards, policies and procedures for the court logistics, asset management, security and intelligence, compliance and risk, business analytics and data management, bail assistance and countering violent extremism functions of Juvenile Justice
  • Lead the delivery of contemporary risk management and quality assurance practices to ensure compliance with international conventions, legislation, regulations and operational and industry standards
  • Drive future assets and infrastructure planning to deliver modern and sustainable operating environments.

 

To be successful in this critical leadership role you will:

  • Champion and act as an advocate for our values and demonstrate the highest standards of ethical and professional behaviour
  • Lead, inspire and motivate teams within and across the organisation
  • Draw on your extensive operational experience and comprehensive knowledge of the juvenile justice system to advise the Executive and Executive Director on a range of operational matters
  • Negotiate solutions across organisational boundaries that allow for the forward planning and management of dynamic operational complexities while also enabling a rapid response to emerging issues and threats
  • Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management, communication and project management skills gained in a complex and dynamic operating environment.
