Role Outline

 

Delivering better value health care is a key priority of government at a state and national level, having multi-faceted and major societal impacts that extend beyond the immediate issue of health service provision. The Executive Director, Strategic Reform is required to lead a range of strategies to address appropriateness of care, productivity, demand management, leveraging other industry approaches, and alternative funding sources to achieve these goals. In delivering better value care, the Executive Director coordinates the program of work across all NSW Health agencies that drive improvements in the health of the population, more efficient and effective health care and improvements in the patient experience.

Experience

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, public administration, health management or other relevant field and/or demonstrated equivalent experience;
  • Demonstrated record of success at a senior level in strategic policy development, evaluation and implementation; and program management in a large and complex operating environment;
  • High level ability to undertake executive, clinical, non-government and community consultation processes, inter-government and interdepartmental liaison and negotiation in health service planning and delivery; and
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current and emerging strategic health issues including the relevant legislative, policy and stakeholder frameworks related to the health system.

This is an ongoing, full time, Band 2, Health Service Senior Executive (HSSE) role.  An attractive remuneration package within the range of $264,182 - $296,293 per annum, with annual performance reviews will be negotiated with the successful applicant. This recruitment may be used to create a talent pool that will be accessed to fill similar roles within the band.
