Casual Correctional Officers – Bathurst & Central West
An exciting opportunity exists for casual Correctional Officers to join our growing team at our Bathurst and Central West (Kirkonnell, Lithgow & Oberon) Correctional Centres.
About the role:
- 24 hours, 7 days a week rotating shift roster.
- Provide safety, security, welfare and rehabilitation of inmates/offenders.
- Conducting daily searches and musters.
- Locate and remove illegal and restricted substances whilst undertaking searches.
- Manage inmates of all classifications.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and security at all times.
- Undertake all custody related administrative duties.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Requirements of the role:
- Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
- Hold a valid and full driver's license (with no restrictions).
- Must be an Australia or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Willing and able to work irregular shift patterns/hours of work (shifts up to 8 hours, 7 days a week).
- Be available to work at short notice (calls for casual work are after 5pm for work on the following day).
- Competent to safely handle a firearm.
- Ensure you meet the minimum medical standards and be of a reasonable fitness level.
- Be a team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Have foundational computer skills.
- Able to adhere to dress code including no visible inappropriate or offensive tattoos.
