Purpose of Position

  • Provide a coordinated, collaborative and consultative approach to the clinical education and training of nurses and or midwives across the Far West LHD
  • Design and deliver nursing education and training programs / resources across the Far West LHD
  • Participate in competency assessment across the Far West LHD
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on clinical education, training and competency assessment of nurses across the Far West LHD

Selection Criteria

Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures affecting Nursing practice and expert clinical skills and demonstrated ability to adhere to the defined standards of ethical and professional conduct consistent with the current NSW Health Code of Conduct and/or relevant professional standards where applicable. Demonstrated experience working in the area of clinical education and training of nurses / midwives and extensive clinical experience as a registered nurse in an adult care environment. Relevant post graduate qualifications in teaching and competency assessment of nurses (or a willing ness to commence same within 6 months) Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining standards of practice and enhancement of skills and knowledge. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs. Current Australian driver’s licence and a willingness to travel across the Far West Local Health District.
