Lead the transformation   

The Deputy Secretary, Transformation provides executive leadership, expert strategic advice and authoritative recommendations to ensure delivery of the Government’s long term priorities and initiatives. 


The role is part of the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s (DPC) executive team, which supports the Premier, Cabinet, Ministers and agencies by driving service delivery, infrastructure and other priorities across government.  With a mission to enhance the lives of the people of NSW, DPC is the lead central agency in the NSW Government.


  • A strategic thinker with the ability to identify and understand global trends, and the opportunities for NSW;
  • Successful leadership experience with a track record of driving change within a large, complex, customer focused organisation, in either the private or public sectors;
  • Executive presence, with strong networking and stakeholder relationship skills; and
  • A passion for serving the community, and an understanding of the opportunities to improve large and complex service delivery environments.

The Role

The objectives of the Transformation function are to:

  • Play a key role in ensuring government services and the public sector remain at the front of global trends, and drive their transformation well into the 2020s and 2030s;
  • Actively shape the long term future of service delivery in a changing world of digitisation, emerging technologies and other trends;
  • Drive the Premier’s Priorities – through the Premier’s Implementation Unit (PIU) and by partnering with agencies;
  • Promote effective intergovernmental and bilateral relations – including playing a key role with local, state, national and international governments;
  • Provide world-class service – including overseeing high-profile events for the community (e.g. Australia Day, Mardi Gas), media and communications, engagements with visiting dignitaries, and supporting the Premier’s trade missions.
