About the Agency
The Art Gallery of New South Wales (the Gallery) is a statutory body established under the Art Gallery of New South Wales Act 1980 and an executive agency under the Department of Planning and Environment.  It is in The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Central Business District, and attracts around 1.3 million visitors annually.
 
The Gallery holds significant collections of Indigenous, Australian and International art and presents a dynamic program of temporary exhibitions involving significant loans from Australian and international collections. The Gallery also manages the Brett Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills and has an off-site collection store.  The Gallery employs up to 350 people on an annual basis and has a current effective full-time equivalent of around 200 staff.  As the state’s leading institution for the visual arts, the Gallery plays a role in the cultural and intellectual life of both Sydney and Australia.

About the Role
The Art Gallery's Digital Engagement Department is currently seeking a Creative Technologist to fill the role of Manager, Digital Technologies. The role provides oversight and delivery of technologies and infrastructure used by the Art Gallery of NSW to maintain the Gallery’s digital presence.

  1. If you were given a brief to be build a new website what strategies would you use to investigate the best solution?
  2. Describe a recent example where you were involved in managing and delivering a large digital project with multiple stakeholders. What was the project, how did you approach stakeholder management and what documentation did you develop?
 
Part of the assessment process may include additional online capability testing, skills testing or work samples in accordance with the new Government Sector Employment Act 2013, therefore you may be contacted to participate.
