About the Opportunity


As Manager Homelessness, you will provide leadership to strategic and operational responses to address homelessness in the Sydney, South Eastern Sydney and Northern Sydney District. You will work closely with key partners including homelessness service providers, local Councils, NSW Police, St Vincents Health and Local Health Districts.


Reporting to the Director Commissioning and Planning, you will assist the District to make a real difference to the way that government responds to some of the most vulnerable members of the community. You will lead a team of specialist staff who are deeply committed to driving better outcomes for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. With a client focus, you will use data and evidence to deliver innovative strategic solutions.


This is a temporary role in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 for a period of up to 12 months.


A Recruitment Pool may be created to fill similar roles for both ongoing and temporary opportunities if and as they arise.


Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated experience working with people experiencing homelessness

Q2. Please provide an example of your experience working with people experiencing homelessness. What were the challenges you identified and what initiatives did you implement?


Part of the assessment process may include additional online capability testing, skills testing or work samples in accordance with the new Government Sector Employment Act 2013; therefore you may be contacted to participate. You may also be asked to complete a Health Declaration Form in later stages of the assessment process.
