Help shape the future of education as our Online Engagement Officer within the Communication and Engagement team at the NSW Department of Education. This position connects and engages with a large social audience of parents, teachers and students through our social media accounts Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Yammer and Linkedin.
 
We are looking for someone with extensive social experience in creating powerful social strategies and campaigns to help promote the strategic objectives of the Department of Education. You will develop and produce high quality and engaging rich media content which helps build reach and create meaningful engagement.

About the directorate
The Communication and Engagement Directorate is a customer focussed business unit responsible for the development and delivery of communication services for the Department of Education. It is a fully integrated team working across the range of internal and external communications including traditional media, digital, social, employee, design and broader stakeholder engagement
 
About the role
Your creativity and experience will serve to create powerful social strategies which promote the strategic objectives of the Department of Education. With our Schools Facebook Project rolling out now, we are looking for an individual who can think laterally about social strategies at a global and local level.
 
A strong digital lead, you will develop and produce high quality and engaging rich media content which leads to tangible results on our social channels with respect to reach and engagement. Analytics will be part of the day to day management of the role so a head for numbers is important.
 
You will also lead the Department on social best practices, social listening and management of trending issues and events of high strategic importance.
 
 
To be successful you will have:
  • Experience managing social channels for a large enterprise with complex goals
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a variety of social campaigns that achieve business objectives.
  • Sound understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, Youtube and associated platforms such as Hootsuite
  • Experience with social listening platforms including writing queries
  • Ability to manage weekly social analytics reports
