The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the world's largest volunteer-based fire service. We have a key role in the overall planning and management of fire prevention, protection and suppression in NSW. Whilst our fire fighters are the cornerstone of what we do, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.


This is your opportunity to play a key role in the development, monitoring and reporting of compliance risk management processes, including issues relating to policy associated with the Service's governance arrangements and the achievement of the NSW RFS objectives.


To be successful in this role you will require experience in compliance and or risk management and advanced excel skills.  Qualifications in risk, compliance or legal knowledge would be an advantage.


This is an opportunity to use your interpersonal and problem solving skills while working collaboratively to achieve common goals.

The role involves:
  • The assessment of organisational risk in relation to compliance obligations
  • The assessment of policy development in meeting legislative and government requirements
  • Regular reporting to internal and external stakeholders on compliance management processes
  • The maintenance of organisational compliance register

The position will initially be in our Lidcombe office, with relocation to the new NSW RFS Headquarters in Sydney Olympic Park in late 2018. Currently under construction, this state of the art facility will be a stone’s throw away from world-class sporting and entertainment facilities and Sydney Olympic Park and Concord West train stations.

Essential requirements

  • A Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
