The opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity for two (2) Report Integration Specialists to be a part of Business Solutions Team in Program Management Office within Infrastructure & Place Division of Transport for NSW. The primary purpose of the role is to develop reporting and integration solutions and to provide a framework for the business to develop its own views, utilising approved data sources, which facilitate the achievement of business outcomes, thereby improving business efficiencies, processes and decision making.


The role will provide ongoing development and maintenance of existing reports and integration components.

This newly created position will utilise and translate input from the Business Analyst, Business Solutions team and Business stakeholders to design, develop and deliver technical and operational reporting and integration solutions.

 
SSIS / SSRS Developer
 
Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Drives end user adoption to ensure its success (simply providing BI to an increasing number of information consumers doesn’t guarantee more people will use it).
  • This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximise the benefit of IT system investments
  • Assist with the definition of the overall data warehouse architecture (e.g., ETL process, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts) with guidance from the key functional requirements
  • Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures for the data warehouse
  • Defining the data model (logical and physical)
  • Defining common data definitions
  • Defining the information workflow
  • Design and direct the ETL process, including data quality and testing
  • Design and direct the information access and delivery effort for the data warehouse
  • Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the data warehouse
  • Define meta data standards for the data warehouse
  • Direct the data warehouse meta data capture and access effort
  • Define production release requirements and sustainment architecture
  • Design, develop & test scalable ETL application for data warehouse application
  • Ensure accuracy & integrity of data & applications through analysis, coding, writing clear documentation & problem resolution.
  • Analyse & translate functional specifications & change requests into technical specifications.
  • Develop, test & implement program logic
  • Scheduling and synchronising automated jobs

Key Accountabilities
  • ETL Tools including SSIS and Alteryx
  • Report and dashboard tools including SSRS and Tableau
  • Deep understanding of RDBMS and related technologies
  • Modelling and Architecture principles (Kimball)
  • Data Modelling (relational and multi-dimensional modelling)
  • Database Design
  • Complex SQL, SQL optimisation, stored procedures and triggers
  • Data Quality (Profiling, Root Cause Analysis, Remediation)
  • Business Intelligence (Strategy, Analysis, Implementation)
  • Experience using Subversion
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment

Essential requirements 

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline, or equivalent experience supporting and planning projects or systems maintenance
