ABOUT THE ROLE


As the Solicitor I-III in Coffs Harbour you will be responsible for: 


• Providing high quality advice, minor assistance and representation at court to clients of Legal Aid NSW


• Conducting an effective legal practice in Family Law and Care and Protection Law and


• Complying with the Legal Aid Commission Act, policies and practice management standards and undertake all related administrative and case management activities.


ABOUT YOU


The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and committed team member with excellent relevant skills and experience to conduct a litigation practice in both Family Law and Care and Protection jurisdictions.


You will have a current Australian state or territory Driver's Licence and a willingness to travel.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

• At least 12 months post admission experience in either Family Law or Care and Protection.


• Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW 

 

• Ability to provide a valid Practising Certificate upon commencement 

 

• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check

 

• Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid working visa

1. Outline your skills, knowledge and experience in representing clients in both the Family Law and Care and Protection jurisdiction?

 

2. What do you consider to be the challenges of maintaining a busy practice across two jurisdictions in a regional area and how would you meet those challenges.


The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.


This recruitment will be used to fill any current vacancies and may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future vacancies that may arise over the next 12 months.
