Botanic Gardens & Centennial Parklands (‘BGCP’) is the operating name used following the operational integration of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust and the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust. The Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust is responsible for the management and stewardship of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, the Domain, the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan and the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah. The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust is responsible for the long-term strategic planning of the Parklands, as well as the operational day-to-day management of the three parks - Centennial Park, Moore Park and Queens Park.
Primary purpose of the role: The Venue Officer provides administrative and operational support services to the Sport & Recreation team and contributes to the achievement of Centennial Parklands objectives and strategies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide high quality customer service and information to customers, commercial licensees and the general public regarding equestrian services and facilities at Centennial Parklands Equestrian Centre.

• Assist in the development, review and communication of relevant information material and resources to  stakeholders.  

• Provide support to bookings administration, including financial management procedures as required for customers.

• Monitor the use of equipment and facilities, identify and report on maintenance requirements, and implement remedial action as required, to ensure that risks are adequate managed.

• Collect data and report on developing trends within the equestrian field and contribute to decision making, goal setting and planning to identify opportunities that increase the use of equestrian facilities for a range of needs.

• Maintain administration systems and relevant databases in relation to stakeholders, facility allocation, membership and contact details to ensure accurate record keeping.

• Monitor compliance with regulations to ensure users are not putting the health and safety of themselves or others at risk.

• Ensuring administrative support is provided in timely and efficient manner across multiple facilities with minimal supervision in a high volume environment.


Essential Requirements:

• Are an Australian resident

• Have a current NSW driver’s licence

• Able to work Saturdays

• Experience in office administration

• Have experience in financial administration including preparation of purchase orders and processing invoices

• Have a current Apply First Aid (HLTAID003) qualification / equivalent or willing to obtain one

• Willing to work across multiple teams within the Sport & Recreation department

• Familiar with horses and or willing to undertake basic horse handling training


Desirable Criteria:

• Experience using SAP financial system

• Experience using TRIM records management

• Experience in logistics management
