“My job is to ensure inmates appear at court on the set court date and time,” says Ahsan, NSW Department of Justice Administration Clerk in Sentence Administration.
“When an inmate is due to be released, I ensure they’re released according to their sentence term and expiry date by following NSW laws and legislation.”
While Ahsan’s role can be challenging, he thoroughly enjoys being able to work with different people and to contribute to developing positive change for the future.
“In my daily work, I deal with different stakeholders, both government and non-government, whilst following the criminal act of NSW. It’s challenging at times, especially regarding the confidential information for which we are responsible,” Ahsan explains.
“We strive to find innovative ways of working for the good of the future.”
After work, Ahsan plays cricket and enjoys fishing when he has the opportunity.
