In her role as Senior Project Officer for the Office of Environment and Heritage within NSW Department of Planning and Environment, Hasanthi oversees the management and delivery of a wide range of projects designed to protect our environment and cultural and heritage values.
Her day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring project documentation is up-to-date across multiple branch projects, collaborating with team managers to ensure projects are on-track, stakeholder management, coordinating reporting requests, and completing ad hoc tasks such as business plans and web content updates.
Working in a supportive environment where she has the opportunity to work on multiple projects and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders is what Hasanthi enjoys most about her job.
“Managing various projects gives me the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills,” she enthuses.
“I’m also fortunate enough to work in a supportive and encouraging environment where I can collaborate with stakeholders across the agency. I also have a great Director who supports and encourages me, and acts as a role model.”
Hasanthi also likes to keep herself busy with multiple projects outside of work – she dances flamenco, plays the keyboard and piano, volunteers for animal charities, works on renovation projects, and enjoys setting out on travel adventures.
