The new "I work for NSW" Website

You may have noticed that the public-facing JobsNSW website is now called "I work for NSW" and the jobs.nsw.gov.au web address now diverts to iworkfor.nsw.gov.au . The Public Service Commission welcomed in the new year with the launch of our Employee Value Proposition (EVP), which was developed as an overarching EVP for the NSW Government in consultation with NSW public sector employees. The EVP supports our goal of becoming an employer of choice in Australia and attracting and retaining the best and the brightest people to the NSW public sector.

As mentioned, the website URL is now www.iworkfor.nsw.gov.au. This is merely a cosmetic change, and there are no changes to Taleo. The web address for Taleo remains the same.

The Support team e-mail address and telephone number will remain the same for the moment.

Diversity

The Public Service Commission conducted a recruitment review last year to provide an early evaluation of what is working well, opportunities and areas  for improvement in relation to the NSW Public Service recruitment reforms. One finding in the recruitment review was that hiring managers cannot use diversity information in Taleo to consider the needs of candidates. Following consultation with the NSW Disability Council, and trialling a new field in Taleo as part of the NSW Government Graduate Program and NSW Public Service Talent Pools, a new field has been included in the application form in Taleo for applicants with disability to include their accessibility adjustment requirements.

Providing accessibility adjustment requirements up front will help hiring managers to consider accessibility in designing and delivering the assessment process. It is important for hiring managers to be aware that this information is now available so that they can consider these requirements and contact the applicants to discuss their needs. The PSC will soon developing a training package for hiring managers on the recruitment process, including requirements around making adjustment for people with disability. Work is also underway to update the recruitment guidance on Employment Portal, including FAQs and case studies.

Recruiter and Hiring Manager Maintenance

It is very important that when a staff member leaves your organisation that their Taleo access is deactivated. When someone leaves your team, please notify us immediately at support@jobs.nsw.gov.au or on 1300 562 679 and we will take the neccesary actions.

Hot Tip: Maintain a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet of users who have Taleo access within your team. This way, you will be able to easily track who does and who does not need access. This helps avoid sending unnecesary New User requests and helps you maintain active and inactive users.

Your Client Relationshop Managers

The Client Relationship Manager is responsible for managing the relationship between jobs.nsw/I work for NSW and the NSW government sector.

We are here to assist with system optimisation processes and workforce analysis/data requirements.

Pre-Screening Questions

Did you know targeted questions can be created as pre-screening options and be added to your advertised role?

Please find a guide for this located here. While creating targeted questions as pre-screening is optional, the benefits include:

• Candidate responses are Reportable fields and can be included in pre-screening response reports
• Candidate responses as additional attachments are not required.
• Decreased risk of candidates not responding to Targeted responses or Selection Criteria.

The "Display Only" Career Section

We have now provided a career section option for you to post positions for which applications are to be taken outside of Taleo. This allows the position to be posted to the website, but removes the "Apply Online" button. To post positions here, locate the Display Only Career Section option in Posting and Sourcing.

Please note, you will not need to write "DO NOT APPLY HERE" or similar phrasing, as the apply button is no longer an option when it is posted.
