The Office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner’s Advocacy Unit speaks up for small businesses within government and initiates and participates in strategic policy reform and projects. The Advocacy Unit helps bring forward the experiences and concerns of small businesses to government policymakers and identifies and develops measures to simplify the operating environment for small businesses.

 

As the Advisor, Advocacy and Strategic Projects you will provide policy advice and support to the NSW Small Business Commissioner and contribute to projects and initiatives which assist small businesses to thrive and operate more effectively. You will be responsible for preparing Cabinet submissions and contribute to the analysis of advocacy issues by researching and developing recommendations.

 

About You

To be successful in the role you will have demonstrated experience in delivering sound policy advice and advocating for businesses. You will have strong research and analytical skills, and be capable of balancing a varied workload with competing priorities. This role is heavily stakeholder focused and it is essential that you have exceptional communication skills and be able to effectively develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders.
