Curriculum Program Deliverer

We are looking for passionate, bold and authentic Curriculum Program Deliverers who is interested in joining a leading NSW Government agency focused on creating a living future for the past so that our visitors can experience Sydney's past as if they had lived it themselves.

  • Guide Year 6 - $67,503. Package includes salary ($60,896), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading – full-time equivalent
  • Casual (for a period up to 1 year)

What we do

Sydney Living Museums (SLM) cares for a group of 12 of the most important historic houses, gardens and museums in NSW on behalf of the people of NSW.

 

Our commitment to our audience is to maintain the museums, landscapes and collections with integrity whilst presenting the narrative of each in contemporary, compelling and relevant ways.

 

Our purpose is to enrich and revitalise people’s lives with Sydney’s living history, and to hand the precious places in our care and their collections on to future generations to enjoy.

 

What you’ll do with us

This role consistently delivers high quality curriculum based programs to a range of audiences across Sydney Living Museums’ sites enabling formal learning audiences from preschool to year 12 to learn about, engage with and enjoy Sydney Living Museums’ sites and activities.

 

The focus of this role is: Facilitating high quality learning experiences in authentic historic environments.

 

Sydney Living Museums learning programs are underpinned by four principles.

Learning at Sydney Living Museums:

  • is learner-focused, experiential, inquiry-based, social, and active
  • respects, promotes and embeds Indigenous perspectives
  • connects multiple knowledges and builds 21st century skills
  • is accessible and inclusive.

Our Curriculum Program Deliverers are friendly, approachable and skilled at group management, keeping students focused and engaged and creating a vibrant and engaging learning environment. The role demands flexibility and problem-solving skills as well as enthusiasm, excellent time-management and personal communication skills and attention to detail. The role moves between our beautiful historic sites and involves diverse content and delivery styles, including costumed interpretation in character.

Responsibilities

What the essential requirements of the role are

  • Current NSW Working with Children check.
  • Educations qualifications and/or experience in delivering high quality curriculum based programs to students of a range of ages in a cultural institution or similar relevant organisation.
  • Current interest in and knowledge of Australian history.
  • Ability to manage lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling and moving around large sites in external environments.
  • The ability to work at various times, hours and venues depending on the requirements of bookings. 

Desirable requirements for the role holder:

  • Current knowledge of a variety of curriculum areas, including Australian history.
  • Experience delivering play-based and creative arts based activities.
  • Experience working with young visitors with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
