About the Role
These roles works on projects within the Department’s communication and events team. We are looking for a Communications Advisor who is a strong writer, with a focus on attention to detail and a strong sense of initiative. We are a highly motivated team who enjoy what we do and have fun along the way. The ability to successfully  manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a dynamic, changing environment is also required in this role. The work includes preparing digital and printed communications materials and also working with graphic designers and video editors to produce materials.

We are looking for an experienced event organiser to join the team. This role requires an experienced candidate who is able to coordinate events both in Sydney and across the state. The candidate needs to be organised, understand the Sydney venue market and be able to work  independently. The department is a busy environment and there is an increasing volume of event support being needed. It is a rewarding role with varying responsibilities and engagement with key stakeholders across the Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop concepts and materials using one or more of a range of communication methods including internal communications, events, media releases and public relations, websites, social media, email, videos, speeches, brochures, newsletters, correspondence, design, merchandise and advertising activities to inform diverse stakeholders of programs and policy;
Help to develop, implement and evaluate innovative stakeholder communications activities to ensure customers, the community and other stakeholders are engaged and informed and have opportunities to provide input into development of the Department’s work;
Obtain input and monitor and report on stakeholder needs, interests and issues, and provide recommendations to manage identified risks and ensure communication materials are relevant, appropriate and informative
Liaise with a range of internal clients and external providers in the delivery of communication services.
Participate in systems, policy and process improvement initiatives to improve team operations

Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in communications or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
Capacity to travel to outer suburban and regional locations, and to work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends.
