First Nations Education Presenter

About the Role

The First Nations Education Presenter is a crucial role that sits within the Education team. This opportunity is offered on a part time ongoing basis at 4 days per week (FTE 0.8).

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented educator with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent to deliver our First Nations educational programs.

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $75,992 - $83,211 (pro-rated), plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 10.5%) and annual leave loading. 

 

About You

You are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, your prior knowledge and experience will be used to provide high quality formal and informal education programs centered on First Nations knowledges and ways of learning at the Australian Museum (AM).

 

You will be comfortable interacting with a diverse group of people to deliver daily programs at the Museum. This role will allow you opportunities to improve and develop new content based on the Museum’s collections, exhibitions and knowledges, and to participate in evaluation and reporting activities.

 

Your Knowledge & Experience

To be successful in this role you will be able to;

  • Deliver education programs to a variety of audiences.
  • Utilise your previous experience working with First Nations community and organisations.
  • Understanding of the formal education sector, interpretations and curriculum requirements around science, history, geography and First Nations cultures.

Essential Requirements

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent - Aboriginality/Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977; and/or 
  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Clearance
