- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,274 to $142,469 + super
The NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Project Officer to join the newly established Partnerships and Investments Branch. You will be charged with developing partnerships with corporate and private investors to accelerate private land conservation in NSW.
About the role:
- Develop partnerships with corporates and private investors to secure funding to accelerate BCT private land conservation programs
- Build relationships and networks with corporate and private partners.
- Identify and develop opportunities in the emerging biodiversity and carbon markets.
Success in the role depends on being able to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated experience in building new, and nurturing existing, corporate and/or private partnerships to deliver environmental or social outcomes
- Demonstrated success in preparing and presenting proposals to corporates and/or private investors to secure funding, with strong commercial acumen
- Problem solving skills with the capacity to innovate, be flexible and capitalise on emerging partnership opportunities and trends
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams
- Extensive experience in planning, implementing and managing complex projects to achieve priority objectives
- Proven ability in influencing stakeholders to take action and deliver agreed outcomes

Participation in the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) and the BCT’s private land conservation (PLC) programs
All new employees with an existing defined interest in the BOS will be required to disclose their personal (or a close family member’s) participation to ensure potential conflicts are managed appropriately. In some circumstances this may require divestment of the interest. The BCT also has restrictions on staff participation in its funded PLC programs. No additional funding, beyond that already agreed to by the BCT, may be sought or approved during time as a BCT employee or for a 12-month period following termination of employment.
