About the NSW SES

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is an emergency and rescue service made up almost entirely of volunteers and supported by a small staff contingent. NSW SES is a key influencer of other emergency service agencies and works closely with these partners to modernise and grow volunteering to
save lives and protect communities.

While major responsibilities are for flood, storm operations and tsunamis, the NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state. This includes road accident rescue, vertical rescue, bush search and rescue, evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural), other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats, Urban Search and Rescue and Community First Response.

About the role

The Program Design Advisor works within the Operational Capability and Training Directorate. The successful candidate will have experience in developing nationally recognised training.

Experience in developing online training is desirable.

The Program Design Advisor is responsible for the development, monitoring and evaluation of training programs. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to scope the content, provide advice on delivery mode/s, determine requirements such as competency standards, agree on processes and implement project plans, to enable optimum skills and knowledge development of NSW SES volunteers.
