The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

  • Degree or Diploma or equivalent in Information Technology. 
  • Two years (post degree), relevant and current experience in at least two Information Technology areas. Please see below for more information.
  • Hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40110 with the two additional units as listed below).

The following selection criteria form a specific part of the selection process. Candidates for this role must address each of these items specifically in their application. 

  1. Degree or Diploma or equivalent in Information Technology or in an Information Technology related discipline.
  2. Two years (post degree), or equivalent, relevant and current experience in at least TWO Information Technology areas, for example: 
    • Managing information technology systems
    • Applying systems development methodologies
    • Supporting computer systems
    • Designing, installing and managing networks and secure communications

  3. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), or its successor OR, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110), with the additional units listed below; 
    • and one of the following: TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor or TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
    • and one of the following: TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor or, TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools or, TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.

  4. High level written and verbal communication skills in English and proven ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of educational, industrial or community environments.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional currency and commitment to quality customer services.
  6. Demonstrated organisational skills applicable to an education setting and proven strengths in problem solving and change management.
  7. The ability to utilise and integrate information technology in a teaching program.
